Community Resources for Southern Oregon Fires
Our hearts are with everyone in the Rogue Valley and across Oregon dealing with the severe climate fires that are impacting our loved ones, supporters and communities.
The Almeda, Obenchain and Slater climate fires have devastated large portions of the Rogue Basin and local communities leaving many without their homes and businesses. Many Rogue Riverkeeper members, supporters, volunteers and staff were among the thousands who were evacuated on Tuesday September 8th when the fires began. Thank you to the first responders, firefighters, and everyone on the front lines protecting our communities.
Recovering from the impacts of these fires will be a community effort. If you can safely do so, we encourage anyone who is able to support direct relief efforts that are being organized across the Rogue Valley. Here are some immediate resources to help support communities in southern Oregon impacted by the Almeda, South Obenchain, and Slater Fires.

Habitat for Humanity Rogue Valley is organizing a tool share to help folks impacted by the Almeda Fire who plan to return to their homes. Please check their Facebook page or call 541-779-1983 for the latest information.

The Rogue Valley Relief Fund
Donations to the Rogue Valley Relief Fund will go directly to support people most impacted by the fires in the Rogue Valley. This fund will be used to purchase tents, meals, gas, and other supplies needed immediately. In the long term, this fund will be used to support people who have lost their homes as they start to rebuild their lives. The goal is to raise $500,000 over the next six months to provide immediate relief to impacted families.

Ashland Food Co-op Almeda/Glendower Fire Fund: Look for three donation options at the top of the page.
Donate to the Medford Food Co-op Positive Change program.
Donate to Oregon Wildfire Relief through GoFundMe to get funds directly to impacted residents. GoFundMe launched a centralized hub of verified fundraisers created to help residents who have lost their homes and have been displaced by the Oregon wildfires.
Donate to UNETE’s Immigrant Fire Relief Fund to help support farmworkers and their families who were impacted by the fires.
Donations through the Rogue Credit Union will be matched dollar for dollar up to $50,000. Donations are tax-deductible and will go to local non-profits working to assist impacted families.

Edgewater Christian Fellowship: If you know someone who is in need or needs a safe place to stay please send them to: Edgewater Christian Fellowship https://edgewater.churchcenter.com/giving/to/fire-relief-fund. Edgewater Christian Fellowship address: 101 Assembly Circle. Breakfast at Edgewater for evacuees, provided by JOE's Place Ministries.
Red Cross is at the Josephine County Fairgrounds, 1451 Fairgrounds Rd. If you have livestock, you are asked to go to the fairgrounds.
In coordination with Josephine County Emergency Management: Parkway Christian Center also is setting up pop up tents with blankets and cots, 229 NE Beacon Dr. The Grants Pass Shopping Center old movie theater, 959 NE D St. District 7 Gladiola bus lot at Grants Pass High, 8th and Olive streets. Allendale School 2320 Williams Hwy.
In Medford, the Court House Family Fitness Center has bathroom and shower facilities available at 709 N. Phoenix Road Medford, OR 97504.
The Medford School District is providing free meal bags (breakfast and lunch) between 11:00am and 12:30pm on Friday at several locations. Check the Facebook page for the latest information.
To volunteer, help is needed at the First Presbyterian Church of Medford emergency shelter. Email southernoregonequity@gmail.com.
If you can volunteer, the City of Medford’s community partners need help to open additional sites that need volunteers and supplies.
