July 21st: LNG pipeline route in Coos County (visit coastal old-growth on BLM land)

Join Rogue Riverkeeper and partners to explore a portion of the 235-mile Liquefied Natural Gas (LNG) pipeline proposed to export LNG out of Coos Bay. We will visit public lands that would be impacted by the pipeline, including streams and old-growth forests.

The proposed Jordan Cove/Pacific Connector LNG development in southwest Oregon would not only threaten our rivers, forests, fish, community safety and private property rights, but this new effort to export domestic natural gas to international markets signifies a shift in U.S. energy policy that could have dramatic impacts on the price of domestic natural gas for residential, commercial and industrial consumers.

Meet at Abby's Pizza in Winston (96 SW Douglas Blvd.) at 10am. From Winston, we will head west into Coos County. If you are coming from the Coos Bay area, call 541-488-9831 or email lesley@rogueriverkeeper.org for an additional rendezvous location.

Bring water, lunch, sturdy shoes and sun protection. Contact lesley@rogueriverkeeper.org for more information and to RSVP.
